What's an e-book?

An e-book, also known as an electronic book or digital book, is a book that exists in electronic form, whether it started as a print book or not.

CIIS has access to about 100,000 e-books, and almost all are in the library catalog.

You can read the e-books on many devices, including

Learn how you can start to use e-books today!

It can be a bit of a challenge to get used to finding, using and reading e-books.  E-books come in many formats, you often need software like plug-ins or apps to read them, they have copyright protection and digital rights management, and they are available on many different platforms on the Web that each have different features.  Many of them require you to create free accounts to unlock personalized features.

This guide will help you to navigate the sometimes complex world of e-books, and provide answers to some of the most typical questions we receive about using our e-books.  Use the tabs above to find answers to your questions and to learn more about specific topics.
